Participating in Yachad’s Yad B’ Yad in the summer of 2011 was truly an unbelievable and life changing experience. Traveling around the holy land while having the chance to bond with Yachad members was such a great first experience with Yachad. During the summer, I had heard about Team Yachad in the Miami Marathon. It sounded like an awesome thing to be a part of and I was upset that I couldn’t participate being that I live in Israel. I thought to myself about how amazing it would be if there was Team Yachad in Israel…magically, IT HAPPENED!!!! Team Yachad Jerusalem started its first year ever, and I was pumped to be able to actually be a part of something big, with amazing people, in Israel!!! I am not such a runner, especially when it includes running up gigantic Jerusalem hills, but doing it for this incredible organization that has given so much to me and to many other people, made it more than worth it! The energy felt before the race, with everyone cheering and singing was contagious. Running through the streets of Jerusalem, as I passed other runners wearing the Team Yachad shirt we would cheer each other on, and the sense of accomplishment when I crossed the finish line was overwhelming. Just knowing I helped so many future Yachad events, while having the CRAZIEST experience of meeting amazing people, running for something I love, and finishing it knowing I did something so incredibly indescribable. See you at Team Yachad Jerusalem 2013!!! =)
